I've noticed that when I launch my banking app (I use CIBC), sometimes ads for additional services of this bank appear. And in order to proceed with the service (check my balance, make a transfer, etc.), I have to respond by selecting one of the options like: "learn more", "show it to me later", and "don't show me this ad again".
I do not consider this method of communication effective because it is intrusive and untimely. Intrusive because one way or another I am forced to see this advertisement and make a choice, even though I'm only going make a transfer. And untimely because at the moment the ad appears, I am focused on transfer's details, but the ad distracts me from this.
Therefore, I would suggest changing the process of advertising communication in the following way.1. Remove ads when the application starts.2. Place ads on the confirmation page of the successful completion of an operation (for example, a money transfer). I think it will be enough to use 30-40% of the total area of the confirmation page for advertising goals.
Here's what it will look like.
At the top of the page (60-70% of the area): "Your transfer has been successfully completed," at the bottom of the page (30-40% of the area): "Please note! Our awesome deposit allows you to increase your savings by 5% per year."
I see two benefits after implementing such a process:1. At the moment the advertisement appearsthe user is not stressed because the task for which the app was used has been completed (the transfer was successful).2. More attentive viewing of ads (because the subconscious mind believes that there may be more important information about the transfer) and, accordingly, better interaction with ads.
What do you think about this?
