ABOUT ME
My name is Anatolii Melnyk. I am an inspired event organizer and continuous improvement enthusiast. Since October 2023, I have been living in Canada, starting from scratch in the city of Calgary. A city that captivates me with its beauty, entrepreneurship, diversity of people and unpredictable weather. I totally fell in love with it!
Ideas
When interacting with something, I often immediately sense and notice when something is not working efficiently. If I encounter a problem, I find the optimal solution for it. I really enjoy doing this and am always happy when I have the opportunity to do so.
Everything is possible!
To get inspired, I sometimes mentally return to my presentation to the Business Sharks (the Ukrainian equivalent of Dragons' Den) on May 5, 2006. I managed to convince the “sharks” to give me an interest-free loan for my socially oriented cleaning services business (which I had been running successfully for over 10 years before the Covid pandemic began). This important victory back then proved to 22 years old me that everything is possible!

Startups
I intend to implement several of my startups in Canada, where I will have the opportunity to create and customize hundreds of new efficient processes, which I love doing most of all. I am confident that these startups will be successful, creating more opportunities for people to spend their time, earn or spend money more efficiently. And they will also help me get on my feet in this wonderful country, my new home. So that I can buy a house in Calgary for my family and invest more in my children's education and talent development. I also want to be able to fund numerous social initiatives to help the community thrive.
Event organization
I love effectively bringing people together by organizing "soft networking" meetings for the Community of open-minded individuals, which was established in January 2024. These meetings are based on the idea of relaxed and interesting communication through questions and answers, using a system of communication circles.
Although the idea of “soft networking” came to me before I arrived in Canada, when I was struggling to find my first job here, I decided to implement it ASAP so that people could get to know each other and help each other find jobs (through personal recommendations).
Currently I am preparing a series of "Events for Efficiency", where I will first of all effectively introduce people to each other (come and see "soft networking" in action), and try to engage the participants in interaction in a variety of ways. The first in this series will be meetings of food delivery drivers.
Life, business, family, and work
I'm father of three talented kids (two daughters and son). Nowadays I have over 20 years of active experience behind me: life, business, family, and work. I have been through a lot and spent a lot of my money boldly experimenting with marketing and sales to find out what works and what doesn't.
I also implemented the "Available Book" project at my own expense, installing 10 bookcases in 10 cities of Ukraine, which are located indoors and operate 90% autonomous on the principle of a library. All the bookcases are filled with more than 20 nonfiction books that develop and help us become more effective, better versions of ourselves.
Since November 2024, I've been happily working full-time with great people at an incredible family-owned company in Calgary. It has had and continues to have a healing effect on me. After work, I usually deliver food with Uber Eats to gain new experiences and make some extra money.
Since my very childhood, I have had a gift for communication, attention to detail, and a natural curiosity about everything around me. I still never stop asking: "Why and how does it work?". Usually this leads to the birth of ideas.

The Community of open-minded individuals follows an innovative approach to networking - "soft networking". It gives all the participants of the event an opportunity to meet and communicate. After getting to know each other, our goal is to help each other find their dream jobs.
